Estevan will not be hosting the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, according to a new release from the Estevan Curling Club.
Curling Canada notified ECC that despite putting forward a compelling bid, the organization decided to move forward with another city, with that announcement set to be made soon.
“Although we were ultimately unsuccessful in this bid, we are really proud of the submission and the wonderful response from our community,” stated ECC President, Tyler McMillen in the statement. “We gained valuable experience and have been encouraged to bid on future curling events and we are certain that we will bring a world-class curling event to Estevan in the near future.”
The ECC noted that Estevan has a rich and successful history in hosting provincial and national sporting events in multiple categories, with those all backed by generous community support and contributions.
During the bid for the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, The ECC took a number of deposits for ticket packages, which they say will be reimbursed in full in January.
