More snow is on the horizon over the week along with possible freezing rain.

Estevan saw some more snow come in over the weekend as the month switched over to December.

However, temperatures will be switching a bit as we'll see warmer air heading into the southeast over the week.

Kyle McAuley, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, talks about what Estevan might see over the coming days.

"Now that that system has moved off, we've had some cooler nights in Saskatchewan with the ridge of cool arctic air over Saskatchewan and that's moving off to the east and an Alberta low is coming through over the next couple of days that's going to bring some freezing rain and snow into the northern parts of this gathering."

The southeast will mainly be receiving the remaining dregs of a larger system hitting that northern area.

"Yeah, it's mainly going to be the kind of the aftermath of the system and some leftover cloud. Nothing really, too, too heavy for amounts in Estevan."

With that system, we might not see the usual snowfall, but instead face freezing rain, though McAuley says that's more likely to be further north.

"There's a small chance of freezing rain, but most more so is going to be towards the north of Estevan. There is a freezing rain warning out for Meadow Lake and that may be extended further to the east. Don't foresee that going this far south into Estevan."

Some of the storming systems are also likely to whip up winds with McAuley giving a warning for those.

"It's going to bring some pretty strong northerly winds around 30-40 km/h, gusting up to 60 going to be later in the day Tuesday and overnight Tuesday. Along with that it's going to be some warming up temperatures getting to near 0°, it's not going to last too long just about an afternoon of that and the temperatures going to be dropping again as these northerly winds are moving in."
