Roads and highways around the southeast can be compared to skating rinks this morning. This comes after freezing rain fell on the majority of the southern part of the province.
Icy conditions can be found on Highway 39 from Midale to the North Portal, Highway 47 from Stoughton to the US border and Highway 18 from Oungre to the Manitoba border. This includes communities like Bienfait, Oxbow, Alameda, Carnduff and Gainsborough seeing slippery road conditions this morning.
Highway 1 east from Wolseley all the way to the Manitoba border has been closed due to packed snow and ice. Highway 47 north from Handsworth is also closed due to drifting, loose snow and ice around the area. This also applies to Highway 48 from Kegworth all the way to Fairlight.
Highway 8 from Redvers to Rocanville is also closed due to icy road conditions.
