Estevan Fire Rescue is one of the organizations that has been helping to get more toys into children's hands this Christmas thanks to a recent toy drive.
They held that at the Canadian Tire in Estevan on December 7th, with donations accepted over a few hours.
Justin Herod, a lieutenant for EFR, talks about the day's donations and how it felt to hold that.
"It's been very good. We've had lots of people stopping, dropping off toys and stopping at Canadian Tire here and grabbing toys from inside, but seeing as here we were able to fill the box of a pickup truck as well as the back seat is full, so it's been very good."
With that community support, Herod says that he's thrilled to see so much support in the community.
"It's great being able to see the community come together and support the Angel Tree and the toy drive. Great being able to help by helping give back to community members that need help at this time of year."
While the initial drive is over Herod says there are still some opportunities to get toys where they're needed this Christmas.
"I believe that Walmart, they're doing a toy drive still and Angel Tree will be set up over there till the 15th and you can drop them off over there."
