Scout and Magpie and Ora - new business ventures for Lake Lenore
A new thrift store and business hub venture is opening in Lake Lenore, celebrating with a grand opening on Saturday, January 6 from 10 am to 5 pm.
Scout and Magpie, the newly minted thrift store, along with Ora, an “under-one-roof" operation featuring local businesses and services will open their doors in the former credit union building on Main Street in Lake Lenore. It’s an exciting time for the partnership that looks to provide another local shopping outlet. In the case of Scout and Magpie, there are more benefits to be derived for the community. STF announces second one-day province-wide strike for Monday
The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation has announced that the next round of job action will be a second one-day province-wide strike held on Monday, January 22. The first one-day strike was held on Tuesday, January 16.
“Despite solidarity from across the country and overwhelming public support, the government is not listening and refuses to engage in meaningful conversation,” stated the STF in a release. Link to the story here.
The search is on for the Muenster Community Cooperative Daycare contractor
It’s all systems go for the Muenster Cooperative Childcare Centre. It’s got the green light from the province along with the promise of funding for its initial 25 spaces.
The proposed facility will be built from the ground up beginning with the first thaw this spring. Link to the story here.
REACT tag increase ignites more community discussion

Humboldt RCMP investigates holiday season damages
Humboldt RCMP is investigating incidents of damage caused to vehicles and property during the holiday season.
On December 23, 2023 between midnight and 7:30 a.m., Humboldt RCMP received several reports of vehicles that were damaged along 13th Avenue, 7th Avenue, 11th Avenue, and Main Street in Humboldt. Link to the story here.
