Estevan Fire Rescue responded to multiple incidents over the weekend and into early this week, including fire alarms, vehicle collisions, and a carbon monoxide scare, with no major injuries reported.
On December 9, at around 4:30 a.m., Estevan Fire Rescue (EFR) was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm in the southeast area of the city. Crews responded and investigated, determining there was no emergency.
At around 2:10 p.m. that day, EFR responded to a two-vehicle collision in the north-central part of the city. No injuries were reported, and minor damage occurred. Later, at around 4 p.m., EFR responded to a second two-vehicle collision in the northeast part of the city. Crews confirmed it was a minor incident with no injuries or entrapment.
On December 10, 2024, just before 7 a.m., EFR responded to a residential carbon monoxide alarm in the northeast area. Crews found moderate levels of carbon monoxide in the home, and SaskEnergy was called to the scene for further investigation.
At around 6:30 p.m. on December 10, EFR responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 12 near Frobisher. Crews assisted with no entrapment and minor injuries reported.
The next day, on December 11, at approximately 2:45 p.m., EFR was dispatched to a residential fire alarm in the northwest area. Crews determined it was a false alarm, and no assistance was required.
On December 12, 2024, at around 2:30 a.m., EFR responded to a commercial fire alarm in the northeast part of the city. Crews investigated and found no emergency but identified issues with the fire sprinkler system.
On December 15, EFR was dispatched to an elevator rescue in the north-central part of the city. A fire officer confirmed there was no entrapment, and responding crews stood down. At around 9:40 a.m. that day, EFR was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm in the central part of the city. Crews responded and determined no emergency was occurring, as the alarm was triggered by a cooking-related incident.
