The Loewen family is leaning on the support of their community after a fire destroyed their home last weekend. Though it has been an incredibly difficult time for the family, they are grateful for the outpouring of help and love from friends, family, and the community.

"Right now, I think we’re just taking it one day at a time," said Chantelle Loewen, expressing the uncertainty they face as they navigate this loss.

She also shared her appreciation for those who have gone above and beyond to support them. "Some close friends have really come together to create pages, organize things, and sort through items for us. We’d really like to thank them too," she said.

"Honestly, it’s been overwhelming how much the community has stepped up to help us," Chantelle continued. "I’ve never seen anything like it. We’d really like to thank them."

With Christmas just a week away, the Loewens are focusing on the importance of being together with family. "It’s not going to be much different. Obviously, we don’t have our home, but we still have everyone who matters to us. Being together with family is all that matters for Christmas this year," Chantelle said, reflecting on their plans for the season.

Cody, too, emphasized the significance of family. "Being together with family is all that matters for Christmas this year."

Both Chantelle and Cody were quick to acknowledge the unwavering support they've received. "The community has been a great support. People from Midale, Macoun, Estevan, and even farther away have stepped in to help us out," Cody said. "We’d like to thank them for that."

Through the tragedy, the Loewen's are finding strength in one another and in the incredible kindness of their community.
