511 Alberta is reporting poor visibility on Highway 2 between Red Deer and Lacombe this morning. The same conditions are being reported on Highway 2A.
The highways are partly snow covered, with ice/snow on the shoulder. Snow, fog, strong wind and drifting and blowing snow are also factoring into driving conditions.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for areas of Central Alberta.
Heavy snowfall is expected across the region, with total amounts between 10 to 15 cm.
Snow will continue to intensify this morning across portions of central and southern Alberta and will move towards the east before tapering off this evening.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
If visibility is reduced while driving, make sure to turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
