Estevan is seeing a big system hit the southeast today with heavy snow expected to cover the area.
The Alberta Clipper coming in has had Environment Canada evens end out a snowfall warning, with their forecast expecting 15-20 cm.
Meteorologist Stephen Berg talks about the system, saying that we'll see that hit today before the clock strikes noon.
"Looks like in the late morning hours at the moment and then snow sometimes heavy with some blowing snow as well with winds gusting up to about 60 kilometers per hour, in the afternoon and evening hours, which will give some blowing snow conditions as well. So visibility will be pretty poor in many places around the Estevan area."
With harsh winds coming along with that snowfall Bergen advises people that the storm will be very bad for visibility.
"If you have to be able to drive in on the highways you should be very careful. You're not going to be able to see very far in front of you. Best to stay home and wait it out if you can."
Temperatures will also be dropping during the storm according to Berg.
"It's also going to be rather chilly, with wind chills in the -26 range or so maybe to -30 or so by tonight as well."
Berg recommends that people hunker down for the storm which is expected to be mostly gone by midday tomorrow.
"If you can sit tight and wait until things clear up tomorrow by the kind of late morning noon hour. So that's probably the best bet for you. Just stay warm and stay safe and make sure that you're looking out for yourself and your neighbours and close contacts."
