As 2025 approaches, key benefit payment dates and amounts have been released, allowing Central Alberta families to start planning their finances.
Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
The Canada Child Benefit is a monthly, tax-free payment designed to assist families with children under 18. From July 2024 to June 2025, the maximum annual amounts are:
- Children under 6 years of age: Up to $7,787 per child ($648.91 per month)
- Children aged 6 to 17: Up to $6,660 per child ($555.00 per month)
These amounts apply to families with adjusted net income (AFNI) below $36,502, with benefits decreasing as income exceeds this threshold.

Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB)
The ACFB, administered by the Government of Alberta, supports families with children under 18. It includes a base component and a working component, with the following maximum annual amounts:
Base component:
- One child: $1,330
- Two children: $1,995
- Three children: $2,660
- Four or more children: $3,325
Working component:
- One child: $681
- Two children: $1,301
- Three children: $1,672
- Four or more children: $1,795
The base component is reduced for families with incomes exceeding $24,467, while the working component is reduced when incomes exceed $41,000.

Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR)
Formerly known as the Climate Action Incentive Payment, the Canada Carbon Rebate provides quarterly payments to eligible individuals in provinces like Alberta.
Payment dates for 2025:
- January 15
- April 15
- July 15
- October 15
Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) Credit
The GST/HST credit is a quarterly, tax-free payment for individuals and families with low to modest incomes. For the 2023 base year (payments from July 2024 to June 2025), eligible recipients may receive:
- $519 if single
- $680 if married or in a common-law partnership
- $179 for each child under 19
GST/HST payment dates for 2025:
- January 3
- April 4
- July 4
- October 3
Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB)
The ACWB offers advance payments to individuals and families working and earning a low income. Payments will be made on the following dates in 2025:
- January 10
- July 11
- October 10
New $250 Working Canadians Rebate coming in Spring 2025
The federal government has announced the Working Canadians Rebate, a new $250 tax-free payment aimed at putting more money in the pockets of Canadians. Eligible workers can expect to receive the rebate in early spring 2025.
Eligibility requirements:
To qualify, individuals must:
- Have worked in 2023 and earned up to $150,000 in net income.
- File their 2023 tax return by December 31, 2024.
- Meet at least one of the following conditions:
- Claimed tax credits for contributions to the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Quebec Pension Plan (QPP).
- Claimed tax credits for Employment Insurance (EI) or Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP) premiums.
- Reported income from EI or QPIP benefits.
- Be a resident of Canada on March 31, 2025.
- Not be incarcerated for 90 days before April 1, 2025, or deceased on that date.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will automatically distribute the rebate via direct deposit or cheque to 18.7 million eligible Canadians who meet the requirements.
