On Monday, August 19, Paige was back in her hometown hosting a basketball camp introducing a new generation to the sports she’s championed. 3x3 basketball has come on strong in the past few years, and its first ever Olympic appearance has galvanized the high-octane sport into viewers' minds.

Jacob Wassermann goes for gold in Paris
It’s Jacob Wassermann’s time to shine at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. The Humboldt-native competitive rower was introduced to the sport only two years ago. Following intensive training and an international foray in Rio de Janeiro that won Canada a spot in singles men’s rowing at the games, he’s set to test his skills and strength against the world’s best.

Jacob Leicht's memory will live on with new outdoor rink and courts
When he was growing up in Humboldt, there was a good chance you would have found Jacob Leicht at the outdoor rink near St. Dominic School playing hockey with his friends during the winter.
Soon, everyone in the city will get to experience the same passion that Jacob enjoyed with a brand-new facility.

Streetfest 2024 brings in the crowds
It was a fantastic turnout for this weekend’s Humboldt Streetfest, hosted by the Humboldt Downtown BID.
Friday saw plenty of activity at the downtown street vendors with plenty of folks pursuing the wide variety of wares and partaking in edibles from the food trucks

The FireFit Championship showcases the physical and mental demands of firefighting
The FireFit Championship, held in Humboldt on August 23 and 24, pitted some of the best firefighters against each other in friendly competitions. It was a test of skill, knowledge, endurance and determination to see the top teams and individuals emerge over the two days.
