If you are looking for something to do to ring in the New Year, communities across Central Alberta have fireworks and other events throughout the day.  

Events on December 31:  

Red Deer  

Noon Year’s Eve Party   

Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Location: Ridgewood Community Hall (37160 Range Road 10, Red Deer County)   

All ages are welcome. Sledding, a fire, and food and beverage before ringing in the New Year at noon.   

  

Winter Festivals New Year Celebration  

Time: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.  

Location: Red Deer Public Library Bawe Branch  

Bring your dancing shoes and twist, jive and shake in the new year at this all ages, family New Year celebration.    

  

New Year’s Eve Family Party   

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  

Location: Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum  

An evening packed with activities for all ages, including a photo booth, music, games, and a balloon drop.  

 

Blackfalds  

New Year’s Eve Free Skate  

Time: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  

Location: Eagle Builders Centre Arena 2  

An afternoon of free skating to celebrate the New Year.  

 

BCHL Hockey - Blackfalds Bulldogs vs. Okotoks Oilers

Eagle Builders Centre, 6 p.m.

  

Ponoka   

New Year’s Eve Family Pool Party   

Time: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  

Location: Ponoka Aquaplex  

Free admission, refreshments, belly flop contest, penguin challenge, and   

a dive competition.  

  

Stettler  

New Year’s Eve Family Museum Celebration   

Time: 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.  

Location: Stettler Town & Country Museum (6502 - 44th Ave)  

A family event to celebrate the New Year.  

  

Events on January 1, 2025:  

Sylvan Lake  

Fireworks display 

Time: 7 p.m.  

Location: Lakefront  

Watch the fireworks display anywhere along Lakeshore Drive.
