The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) announced the arrest of a suspect linked to a large drug trafficking investigation, while another remains at large.
On December 26, 2024, Cory Kozmenski, 47, of Winnipeg, was located and arrested. He faces 21 charges related to drug trafficking, firearms offenses, and breaches of court conditions. During his arrest, police seized 13 Ecstasy pills, over $10,000 in Canadian and U.S. currency, and other evidence. Kozmenski remains in custody.
A warrant is still active for 41-year-old Kevan Anderson, also of Winnipeg. Police caution that Anderson is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.
The investigation, led by the WPS Guns & Gangs Unit, began in November 2024. It has resulted in multiple arrests and significant seizures of drugs, firearms, and cash. On December 11, two search warrants were executed in connection with the case, leading to the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and a rifle, among other items.
This case also involved a vehicle pursuit on Notre Dame Avenue earlier in December, where suspects in a Jeep Compass fled police and collided with several vehicles, including a school bus. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The investigation highlights the ongoing efforts by the WPS to disrupt drug trafficking networks in the city.
