With 2024 nearly over businesses are looking back at what went right and what could have done better over the year.
The Downtown Business Association hosted a number of events and supported businesses, capping off the year.
Chair of the DBA Laurel Buck says that the year had them in the community for events that took place.
"We had three very successful events. The street dance, the Moonlight madness and the miracle on 4th, the two just happened here. I think everybody was happy with all of them.
Buck says she's also excited to be welcoming three new businesses to the downtown this year.
It wasn't all good news as Buck talked about the challenges the downtown dealt with over the year.
"I think the construction and the flooding was definitely, you know, a challenge for most of us on these two blocks, the 1100 and 1200, but again on the bright side of that, we have 3 new businesses coming because of the revitalization and we've also gained about 14 new members just in the last three months. So I think that's a good thing for the downtown."
With a new year right around the corner, Buck says she's looking forward to getting the downtown done.
"Very much looking forward to 2025. Yeah, we can't wait for the construction to start and finish again and have a look at our new downtown."
