Update:

On Dec. 30 at 4:40 p.m., the Calgary Police Service cancelled the dangerous person alert that was issued earlier today.

The suspect, Benedict Kaminski, 38, was located deceased.

His vehicle was also found.

There is no further risk to the public.

On Dec. 30, at 12:13 p.m., the Calgary Police Service issued a dangerous person alert for the City of Calgary and surrounding area.  

The suspect, Benedict Kaminski, 38, had a firearm and was believed to be in the areas of northwest Calgary and Bearspaw.  

He was described as a white male, 6 feet tall, with brown and grey hair, and wearing a grey, red, and white shirt.  

He was driving a 2022 black Nissan Pathfinder with Alberta plate.

Anyone with information about this incident or who knew his whereabouts was asked to contact police.
