The village of Lake Lenore had a banner year in 2024, marked by new business openings, exciting community events, and the beginning of residential development.

According to Brie Foy, Deputy Mayor of Lake Lenore, the opening of two new businesses was one of the year’s standout achievements. Ora  Coworking and Scout and Magpie Thrift Store, which share a building at 115 Main Street, have become central to the town's growing local economy. Ora, located upstairs, hosts seven practitioners who offer holistic wellness therapies. Meanwhile, the thrift store, situated on the lower level, has been well-received by the community.

“The thrift store has been a great success and has really caught on with the locals,” said Foy.

The village also enjoyed a full calendar of events in 2024, fostering a strong sense of community. Foy highlighted the return of several beloved traditions, including the annual fish smoker, upcoming in 2025 on January 11th, the Lions' Fish Derby on Lenore Lake, and the Knights of Columbus Rib Fest in February. The town hosted a Wellness Expo and car bingo in May, while the Lake Lenore Service Club’s first-ever mock wedding in October brought excitement to the fall season.

Foy also emphasized the importance of the school in community life, noting that sports and other school-based activities continue to play a major role in keeping residents engaged.

“There’s always something happening here, whether it’s a big event or a smaller gathering,” she remarked.

Looking ahead, there’s growing interest in residential development in Lake Lenore. Foy shared that the town has developed 11 residential lots on the northwest edge of town, with the second house already under construction. These lots, located behind Burrows Place, offer an attractive area for new homes.

As the year wraps up, Foy sent a heartfelt message to the residents of Lake Lenore.

“On behalf of the new Council, we want to extend our gratitude to everyone for their contributions and dedication in making our community a better place. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”

With a strong foundation in local engagement and development, Lake Lenore is poised for continued growth in 2025.
