The Blackfalds Bulldogs lost their second straight to Okotoks Wednesday night falling 5-2 on the road to the Oilers. The Bulldogs also dropped a heartbreaker to the Oilers on New Year's Eve 3-2 in overtime.

Wednesday's game saw the Oilers scored three unanswered goals in the third period en route to the victory.

Blackfalds opened the scoring at 5:24 of the first when Thomas Neu netted his first goal of the season.

The Oilers responded at the 12:48 mark when Spencer Rheaume found the back of the net.

Joey Melo put the Bulldogs back on top a few minutes later, but Kade Duell would tie things up at two heading into intermission.

There would be no scoring in the second.

Jackson Rowland, Michael Kowalski, and Brett Wilson (empty net) would all score for Okotoks in the third to give the Oilers the victory.

Bulldogs netminder Lukas Fursten stopped 23 of 27 shots faced, while Blackfalds fired 24 shots at Okotoks goalie Olivier Ciarlo.

Blackfalds finished the night 0-for-6 on the power play, while Okotoks was 0-for-4.

The Bulldogs (2-26-2-0) are back in action Friday night hosting Salmon Arm at Eagle Builders Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
