The Sirens for Life Challenge is back in Red Deer.

Emergency service workers in Red Deer and area are continuing to answer the call to help save lives as part of this year’s Sirens for Life Alberta Challenge.

The campaign runs Jan. 7-31, 2025. The goal of the campaign in Red Deer and area is to collect more than 5000 blood and plasma donations. Also to bring in new donors to support Canadian Blood Services ‘450 Challenge’.

This winter, Canadian Blood Services is encouraging Albertans to participate in the 450 challenge. Right now, on average across the country, there are about 230 new donors a day. To meet the growing need for blood and plasma they need to double the number of new donors.  They’re calling on people across the country to be one of the 450 new donors needed every day this winter.

Your donations matter. Canadian Blood Services is asking local residents to help save a life and change so many more by donating blood and plasma in support of their local emergency services teams.
