Temperatures are expected to warm up this week with lots of sun in the forecast for Central Alberta.
Monday's high is around minus 7 with temperatures expected to reach above zero Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a chance of flurries Monday morning but nothing significant.
Erin Staunton is a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada.
"We're seeing a big push of warm air coming in from the west. It's coming in from BC," she said. "We expect to see these above average temperatures last at least through to the end of the working week, through to about Friday."
Staunton notes there is a possibility of rain on Friday.
The normal daytime high for this time of year is around minus 7, with the overnight low being minus 18.
