Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Lacombe & District supported 33 families in need over the Christmas season through its Adopt-A-Family program.

The program finds donors who work with BBBS and families to fulfill their wishlists by purchasing grocery cards and other items through the holiday season.

BBBS Executive Director Brianna Berthiaume says they delivered to the families on Dec. 18.

"To see delivery night, to be able to see their faces and their expressions, when the gifts and the food arrive to them is unmatched," she remarked. "It's something that we truly cherish as an organization and really are thankful that we're able to take this on."

Nearly 70 children and youth were served through the program this year in Lacombe, Lacombe County, and Blackfalds.
