The Red Deer Rebels lost their seventh straight Tuesday night, this time falling 3-2 in overtime to the visiting Saskatoon Blades to wrap up a four-game home stand. Red Deer was coming off a 4-3 overtime loss Saturday against Regina.
The Rebels are now 2-0-1-0 against the Blades this season.
Red Deer opened the scoring at 15:27 of the first when Samuel Drancak trickled one through the legs of Blades goalie Evan Gardner.
Zach Olsen deflected a shot from Brayden Klimpke midway through the second to tie the game up at a goal apiece.
Trae Wilke gave the Rebels the lead early in the third but Saskatoon tied it up just 46 seconds later when Tanner Scott fed Tyler Parr in the high slot for a one-timer blast past Chase Wutzke.
Only 43 seconds of overtime was needed, as Parr netted his second of the night off a Ben Riche rebound to give the Blades the 3-2 victory.
