The Weyburn Agricultural Society is hosting its annual general meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the board room at the Weyburn Agricultural Society office building, located beside the Exhibition Hall in the Ag Fair Grounds.
The meeting was originally scheduled to happen back on December 18th but due to inclement weather and the upcoming Christmas season, they decided to re-schedule it for tonight.
This meeting will have a few different topics to discuss, including their latest audit within the society and the findings from that, thoughts on the previous 2024 year, looking ahead to 2025 including setting the date for the annual Fair Days, and filling vacant positions within their board.
Marketing director, Brandie Fisher, talks about the many people that make up the Ag Society.
“Well, each board member has something. Whether it is Ag Safety Days, Flavors of Fall, Rodeo, and all that. There’s one head chair and then everybody helps, kind of a collective effort just working on different events or things that are going on. Mainly what we wanted people to know is that we have vacancies (on our board) so that they could get nominated at the AGM.”
The Weyburn Agricultural Society is looking to fill eight positions that are open within their Board of Directors with positions including President, 1st and 2nd Vice President, Junior Directors, and Finance.
