The interim council of the newly amalgamated Clearwater County met for their inaugural meeting on Jan. 7.
After being sworn in at the organizational meeting, councillors elected a reeve, and deputy reeve, and appointed various board and committee positions.
Michelle Swanson was elected as Reeve, and Bryan Cermak as Deputy Reeve.
The remaining council members are Gennifer Mehlhaff, Daryl Lougheed, Jordon Northcott, Neil Ratcliffe, and Barbara Gibson.
The council then met for a regular meeting, where they approved the preexisting 2025 budgets for Clearwater County and Caroline.

The council will serve the newly formed municipality until the next municipal election on Oct. 20.
The amalgamation of Clearwater County and the Village of Caroline was effective Jan. 1.
