The Estevan Police Service responded to a number of calls over the weekend as temperatures plummeted.
The first report came on January 10th when an individual drove off from a local service station without paying for fuel. After contacting the owner of the vehicle members saw that they returned to pay for the fuel.
Officers later received a complaint of a vehicle that was blocking a driveway on King Street. Members contacted the owner of the vehicle and told them it needed to be moved.
Members also responded to a report regarding an individual posting photos and comments concerning another person on social media. They obtained statements and the matter is under investigation.
Officers also responded to a two-motor vehicle collision that was reported in a parking lot at a local business. One of the vehicles needed to be towed away and officers collected statements from both drivers.
Continuing into the weekend on Saturday, January 11th a complaint came in of a male damaging property at a residence in northwest Estevan. Officers responded and mediated a resolution between the parties.
A domestic violence occurrence was resolved by officers, who arrested and charged a female with assault with a weapon. She was lodged in cells and subsequently released with a future court date.
Another female subject was arrested by officers for breaching drug possession-related conditions of her release. She was lodged in EPS cells and appeared at the Estevan Provincial Court on that date.
EPS officers received a complaint of fraudulent use of a credit card, which remains under investigation.
Even as the cold picked up on Sunday, January 12th, a couple more calls did come in for the EPS to handle.
A reported alarm saw EPS members attending to a business in northern Estevan. Once they were on the scene officers determined that an employee had set off the alarm when entering the building.
A request was received by EPS to assist with a male who refused to vacate a hotel room without paying to extend their stay. Members attended and escorted the male off of the property.
