The RM of Estevan is inviting residents to make their voices known as SaskPower is proposing a power line expansion in the southeast.

In SaskPower's release, they state that they're looking to build two six-kilometre overhead 230-kilovolt transmission lines southeast of Estevan, stretching across the local RM and the nearby RM of Cambria.

Those transmission lines would then connect a proposed switching station to an interconnection point on the border with North Dakota.

The lines would provide around 500 megawatts of power from the Southwest Power Pool to SaskPower.

As such, the province has released its environmental impact statement and the ministry's technical review comments for the public.

They invite the public to leave their comments at environmental.assesment@sk.gov.ca, or by calling in to 306-787-5971.

The environmental assessment impact and ministry technical report will also be available at the RM of Estevan's office.
