During Monday's Humboldt’s City Council executive meeting, the 2024 numbers were released from the Humboldt Fire Department along with an annual report from Community Safety Officer and a monthly report from the Humboldt RCMP Detachment.
2024 was a busy year once again for the Humboldt Fire Department.
Last year, the Fire Department fielded 112 calls which was up from 105 in 2023.
They responded to 40 fire alarms, a slight increase from 34 the previous year.
This past year the Fire Department had nine incidents of structure fires which was an increase from two in 2023.
The fire department also responded to seven stubble and grass fires, which was an increase from two from the previous year.
In 2024, the fire department responded to 19 incidents of motor vehicle collisions or accidents involving snowmobiles and ATVS which is a decrease from 27 they responded to in 2023.
The RCMP’s report from December of 2024 showed they responded to 123 different incidents which was an increase from the 112 they dealt with in the previous month but was down from December of 2023 where they fielded 137.
Traffic charges last month were the same as compared to November with 22 which was a decrease from December of 2023.
In 2024. he had approximately 175 traffic stops resulting in 68 Summary Offence Tickets, up by 30% from 2023.
Tickets for 2024 totaled $26,347, up by 23% from 2023.
