Old man winter is back in the southeast after a relatively warm couple of days, and with him he brought heavy winds that are causing chaos on the highways.

Much of the southeast has poor to zero visibility due to the blowing and swirling snow. Winds are expected to reach up to 70 km/h today with the average for the rest of the weekend at 50 km/h.
The Highway Hotline is reporting that travel is not recommended due to poor or zero visibility on the following roads:
- Highway 47 from the Estevan Bypass all the way to the Trans-Canada Highway 1
- Highway 361 through Lampman
- Highway 9 from Carlyle to Whitewood
- The entire stretch of Highway 48 from Regina to the Manitoba border
- Highway 33 from Stoughton to Regina
- Highway 6 from the US border to Regina
- Highway 8 from Storthoaks, through Highway 1, all the way to the junction of Highway 10
- Trans-Canada Highway 1 eastbound from Regina to Manitoba
Around Estevan, the ministry is showing that there's poor visibility but driving conditions are seasonal. Conditions worsen from Midale heading to Regina, with poor visibility just outside of the capital city.
Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologist Natalie Hasell expressed that if you can avoid it, do not travel anywhere. She noted that weather models are showing that winds will stay consistently strong until early next week.
