The awards gala took place on January 11, 2025, and honored the outstanding contributions, dedication, and bravery displayed by individuals and teams who tirelessly work to safeguard Red Deer County and the surrounding communities.
The evening highlighted remarkable achievements from the 2024 year, and celebrated those who have gone above and beyond in the line of duty. Award categories included: Years of Service, Alberta Emergency Service Medals, Fire Service Federal Exemplary Service medals, Battalion, Ground Seach, and Rescue, RCMP Civilian Search and Rescue; and a special acknowledgment to retired members.
“This is a memorable evening showcasing that our sense of community is our greatest strength, and that our Protective Services members really help to ensure our safety every single day,” remarked Deputy Mayor Lonny Kennett. “We are deeply grateful for their sacrifice, and tonight, we honor their courage and commitment to protecting our residents, and ratepayers.”
