An Estevan Police Service constable has been charged with multiple offences following two separate investigations by the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT).

Const. Vaughn Golden, a two-year member of the force, faces charges including assault, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, mischief under $5,000, and failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking.

In November 2024, SIRT launched an investigation into allegations of interpersonal violence involving Golden. He was arrested on Nov. 29, 2024, and charged with assault, uttering threats, and mischief. He was released under conditions.

A second investigation in December 2024, focused on allegations that Golden breached a release order requiring him to avoid contact with certain individuals. This led to an additional charge of failing to comply with a court-ordered condition.

Golden appeared in Estevan Provincial Court on Jan. 20, 2025. Both matters were adjourned to Feb. 10, 2025. None of the charges have been proven in court.

He has been relieved of his duties and placed on paid leave under the Police Act. A hearing will be held in the coming days to determine whether the leave will extend beyond the initial 30 days.
