Team Canada's women's curling team has advanced to the semifinals against Japan at the World University Games in Torino, Italy.
The team, which includes Cochrane curler Zoe Cinnamon, won their final game in the round-robin against China, 6-3, to advance to the playoffs. Should they win today, they compete in the gold medal final.
As expected, the competition is tight between the top teams with wins and losses being exchanged between the top four. Canada was 7-2 in round-robin play, with their only losses coming at the hands of the Japanese and Norwegians.
Korea finished on top with an 8-1 record, losing only to the Canadians. The Japanese were second with a 7-2 record and Norwegians were fourth with a 6-3 record.
Cinnamon is lead for the Serena Gray-Withers rink. Brianna Cullen is second, Catherine Clifford third and Gracelyn Richards is the alternate.
Today's draw is at noon Alberta time.
