The Humboldt District Hospital Foundation was just one of the dozens of Saskatchewan service organizations to benefit from SaskTel's 2024 TelCare Donations. The total provincial donations amounted to nearly $189,000.
"SaskTel's TelCare program showcases the spirit of community and generosity that defines Saskatchewan,” said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “We are proud of SaskTel's ongoing commitment to supporting vital local initiatives and making a positive impact on Saskatchewan communities."
A release from SaskTel explains that TelCare is a volunteer organization of SaskTel employees who contribute donations through an automatic payroll deduction. SaskTel donates 50 cents for each dollar contributed by employees through TelCare. Across the province this year, the program raised $125,900 that when combined with SaskTel’s commitment to match 50 per cent of each donation, has allowed it to donate a total of $188,853 to 47 charitable and non-profit organizations operating in Saskatchewan.
"We are thrilled to share that in 2024 SaskTel TeLCare saw an increase from 2023 in both employee participation and total funds raised,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “We truly believe in giving back to the communities that we call home, and SaskTel is proud to support the organizations and initiatives that make Saskatchewan a better place to live and work."
Nearly 600 SaskTel employees across nine districts in the province donating to the fund this past year. The HDHF donation was made possible by donors in SaskTel’s Saskatoon region.
