Nominations are now open for the Lacombe Volunteer of the Year Awards.  

The City of Lacombe, Lacombe and District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), and other community partners will present the awards to outstanding volunteers in the community.   

Nomination categories include Leader of Tomorrow, Volunteer of the Year, and Business of the Year Corporate Volunteerism.  

To be eligible, nominees must:  

  • Be a resident of Lacombe or Lacombe County  

  • Must be 12 years of age or older  

  • Made an extraordinary effort or achievement  

  • Showed reliability and consistency  

  • Strong community presence and community spirit  

  • Length of time serving the community  

  • May not have won the award in the last five years  

  • Inspires volunteerism in others  

Individuals, community groups, educational institutions, and voluntary organizations can nominate a volunteer deserving of recognition by March 15. 

The awards ceremony will be on April 30, at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.
