The City of Lacombe Fire Department recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). 

Fire Chief Jason Fleming presented long-term service medals and announced several promotions. 

Greg Lamy received the 12-Year Alberta Emergency Services Medal and the 15-Year Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association Fire Service Award. 

Ryan Fauria was also awarded the 15-Year Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association Fire Service Award. 

Additionally, Trevor Wilton and Ingmar Verburg each received the 10-Year Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association Fire Service Award. 

The evening also celebrated promotions within the department. 

The three newest 4th Class Firefighters, Joel Toth, Shania Young, and Zhiar Kazemimokri were recognized for completing a year of intensive training and countless hours responding to emergency calls. 

In addition, two members were promoted to the rank of Fire Lieutenant. 

Greg Lamy, who has been with the Lacombe Fire Department since June 2012, was recognized for his dedication and exemplary service.

Tammy Brigley was also promoted to the rank of Fire Lieutenant. 

Tammy joined the Lacombe Fire Department in February 2021 and previously served with the Coronation Fire and Rescue and Veteran Fire Department from May 2018 until her relocation to the City of Lacombe. 

She is the first female fire officer in the Lacombe Fire Department.
