The Red Deer Rebels 13-game losing streak has finally ended.

In front of a paid crowd of over 5500, who were also there to celebrate Wooly Bully's birthday, the home team came out strong with 3 goals in the first period.

Jhett Larson started the scoring with his 5th goal of the season at the 11:08 mark. Matthew Gard with his 10th and Brett Calhoon (7th) would finish off the first frame with the Rebels up 3-0.

Two more goals from Derek Thurston with his 5th and Beckett Hamilton with his 10th, in the third period would al but put the game away.

Unfortunately, a Warriors' power play goal with just ten seconds left in the game would stop Chase Wutzke from a shut out. Wutzke would stop 21 of 22 shots on goal.

Jhett Larson would get a goal and an assist in the game and was named first star.

The busy weekend doesn't stop for the Rebels as they will play their 3rd game in three nights with a road trip to Calgary tonight at 6 pm.
