On Dec. 30, 2024, at approximately 1:20 p.m., the Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a robbery at a grocery store in Millet.
The suspects stole groceries and fled the store, making it to their vehicle.
After being confronted by two store employees, the suspects sped off from the location with one of the victims on the hood of the vehicle, who was then thrown off.
The other victim was dragged a short distance from the driver's side door.
Both employees sustained minor injuries.
Following an investigation by Wetaskiwin RCMP General Investigation Section, two suspects have been charged.
Petre Puiu, a 27-year-old resident of Beaumont, has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Operating a Motor Vehicle without holding subsisting operator’s licence
Andreea Mustata, a 23-year-old resident of Beaumont, has been charged with:
- Theft under $5,000
Puiu was released from custody with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11, in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court of Justice.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Mustata.
