It’s been a busy season for the Clive Figure Skating Club and the President, Stephanie Kreuger says her first year at the position was busy.
“It's been a fantastic year, a bit of a learning curve, but it's been a lot of fun. We have 21 kids skating this year which is one of the bigger years we've had.”
Kueuger adds: “It is especially a lot of newcomers this year that are in the Pre-CanSkate or the CanSkate program. For a lot of them it's their first year on ice and they're doing very well.”
The Clive Figure Skating Club has kids of all ages learning the sport. The kids range from 2- to 3-year-olds all the way up to Grade 9 students. The older girls help out the instructor Jalene with the younger kids.
Coming up on Sunday, March 23rd, is the annual skating carnival. Kueuger talks about this year’s event:
"Our theme this year is Dance Dance Dance. There are going to be some awesome shows put on, with some fantastic costumes. It's going to be just a good family time for everybody.”
The performance starts at 1:00 PM and costs $5 to get in.
