Chinook’s Edge School Board trustees discussed the spring budget process, and developing resources to ensure newly elected trustees are successful, during the Feb. 4 school board meeting.

Chinook’s Edge Board considers spring budgeting process
The Chinook’s Edge Board of Trustees received an annual report regarding the division’s preparation for the spring budgeting process. The division has designed its process to prioritize fairness and transparency in the way resources are allocated. The Board supports the process.
Board supports school councils attending ASCA conference
The Alberta School Councils Association (ASCA) is hosting its annual conference virtually on April 26. In the past, the conference has been held in person. The Board plans to support school councils who wish to attend the conference by covering the cost of registration for councils.
Board continues to consider onboarding new trustees
The Board received an update from its ad-hoc committee assigned to consider the onboarding of new trustees following the municipal election on Oct. 20. The Board wishes to develop resources to ensure individuals who are newly elected to the Board receive support to understand the work of trustees and be successful in that role.
Trustees will invite delegation from Penhold Town Council to tour the new Penhold Waskasoo Middle School
The Board plans to invite a delegation from the Penhold Town Council to join a delegation from the Chinook’s Edge Board to tour the new Penhold Waskasoo Middle School facility, which is currently under construction.
The next meeting is scheduled for March 11.
