The Blackfalds Bulldogs have announced that 2007-born forward, Jake McDonald, has committed to the team for the 2025-2026 BCHL season.
The Anaheim, California product grew up in the St. Louis Blues AAA program.
So far this season with the St. Louis Blues 18U AAA team, he scored 29 goals and 49 points in 41 games.
McDonald stands at 5-foot-ten and weighs 165 pounds. His father is former NHLer Andy McDonald, who played in twelve seasons between the Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues.
“I am really excited about this opportunity to be a Bulldog," said McDonald. "They are a first-class organization with amazing staff and facilities and I’m looking forward to contributing any way I can.”
“As a group, we’re extremely excited that Jake chose Blackfalds to start his junior hockey career next year," stated Bulldogs’ Director of Player Development, Al Parada. "Jake is a highly skilled forward with great vision and skating ability. Not to mention, he comes from a pretty good pedigree with his dad being former NHLer Andy McDonald. Jake has the ability to be an impact player as a rookie next year and I can’t wait to see him in a Bulldogs jersey next season.
The Bulldogs are back in action Friday night in Cranbrook. The team then heads to Brooks on Saturday for a matchup with the Bandits.
