Kevin Koe of Calgary will represent Alberta at the 2025 Montana Brier after beating Evan Van Amsterdam of Edmonton Sunday afternoon in the finals of Boston Pizza Cup.
The event, which ran Feb. 5 - 9, was hosted by the Erskine Curling Club at the Stettler Recreation Centre.
Koe scored two points in the first end before Van Amsterdam tied things up in the second. Koe would add seven more en route to the 9-7 victory. The win marked the ninth Alberta title for the 50-year-old Koe. Joining Koe at the Brier will be third Aaron Sluchinski, second Tyler Tardi, lead Karrick Martin, and alternate Mike Libbus.
Meanwhile, Ried Carruthers won the Viterra Championship in Portage la Prairie, Man. over the weekend to complete the field of 18 teams for the Canadian men's curling championship.
The Montana Brier will take place Feb. 28 through March 9 in Kelowna, B.C.
