Humboldt is one of several communities that is set to benefit from the latest investment from the Saskatchewan Government to help address growing student enrolment.

On Wednesday, the provincial government announced it would be pledging an additional 29.5 million dollars in relocatable classrooms.

The mid-year funding brings the total investment from the Saskatchewan government up to $58 million for 2024-25.

76 relocatable classrooms will be created to alleviate space issues across the province.

"With Saskatchewan's growing population, we recognize the need for additional classroom space to support students and educators," Education Minister Everett Hindley said in a release.

"This additional investment will ensure schools that anticipate capacity challenges in 2025-26 have the necessary infrastructure to accommodate students."

Most of the relocatable classrooms will be in Saskatoon and Regina.

Other communities besides Humboldt that will receive relocatable classrooms include Clavet, Corman Park, Lloydminster, Martensville, Pilot Butte, Warman, and Weyburn.

Target date for the relocatable classrooms is this upcoming September.
