Estevan received a number of grants for its local community groups through Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan as part of their quarterly funding period.

The grants are given out to organizations who conduct licensed charitable gambling events, such as bingos, raffles, breakopen ticket sales, Texas hold 'em poker tournaments and Monte Carlo events.

The organizations receive grants equal to 25 per cent of the net revenue raised by the event, with a maximum limit of $100,000 per organization annually.

In total, the Estevan area received $30,094.58, spread across a number of organizations.

Some major donations included $4,803.60 to the Estevan Gymnastics Club, $4,699.46 to the Estevan Lions Club and $5,644.53 to Estevan Minor Football Inc.
