The Big Six Hockey League will see its second round kick off on family day, with the Redvers Rockets and the Oxbow Huskies facing off to see who'll move into the finals.

The Rockets are a lot more rested after their series ended on February 2nd, while the Huskies played until February 11th.

Jim Duncan, Co-Manager of the Redvers Rockets, says they've got quite the series ahead of them.

"It's going to be a tough one. Oxbow is young, and they're gonna skate hard and hit hard. They are something you have to come out full bore and give her. So yeah, they're gonna be a good team to play, good round. It will be a good round before the finals. Hopefully, we'll make it through them, but I think we should with our record. But you can't take them lightly."

Duncan says that the team is in a great position to make a run for the finals.

"We're really healthy. The team has been in good shape and really healthy. With young Nate Miller on the lineup this year it made quite a difference and everybody's kind of gelling together. Brian Magotiaux took over as head coach this year, Ken Potapinski retired and Brian's doing very well. He and Garth have been moving players around and they're finally getting the lines that they're working and gelling together."

With an older core for their team, Duncan hopes to see the team give their everything during the series.

"We're lucky so far, like all our local boys are back and they're healthy and they haven't started to retire on this yet, but they're getting up in age and yeah, it'll take everything that we have to get by Oxbow. It'll be good. We haven't played for two weeks, so we'll be a little rusty coming out of the day, coming out of the gates right off in that first period, but I think everything will get back-to-back to normal after the first period is over and we should build to take control of the game."

Duncan says they're also looking forward to provincials, which begin on February 21st for the Rockets.
