The Town of Lampman is issuing a boil water advisory for residents which will last for an undetermined amount of time.
Teresa Biller, the town administrator, says the order is precautionary due to some recent issues.
"We've had some issues with our water treatment plant. So as a result, we have a precautionary drinking water advisory in effect from now until it is cancelled and residents will know when it is cancelled."
The exact issue with the plant is currently unknown with the town working to identify the issue.
The town does not yet have a definitive timeline for when the water will be safe to use and drink. Biller gives some pointers for people on what they need to boil during the advisory.
"They need to boil water for drinking purposes, for brushing teeth, for washing fruits and vegetables for ice cubes, anything like that. Not to use the water for washing dishes without bleach and also for younger children, they need to be sponge bathed."
"The actual advisory is on our Facebook page or they can contact the office if they need more information and letters will be dropped off at every residence house."
