The Estevan Chamber of Commerce is hoping to introduce some of its members to new ideas as its AGM is coming soon.
That'll include a guest speaker who will be talking about new services that could change the way people do business in the southeast.
Executive Director Merissa Scarlett talks about the speaker for the upcoming AGM.
"Our AGM is March 19 and we're bringing in Curtis Adara from MNP. So he's a partner with their advisory services. So he works with lots of small, medium, and larger businesses in Western Canada and he will be speaking about two things."
"So a bit about cybersecurity and how to be secure and then how to start using AI in your business to make your to increase your productivity. So it's a really great session on if you're curious about cyber security. Maybe you're a little concerned about what's going on in your business online or not even online, but even internally what you're subject to, but then as well if you're curious about AI and maybe you're just like 'how could I be a better business or where can I use this in my every day?'"
Some other items will be on their agenda that day with Scarlett talking about the latest goings-on with the budget.
"Usually, we do our financials and then we usually do the state of the Chamber. So we'll be talking about where we're at, where we're going, and how the year was, and we'll be announcing our Board of Directors for the upcoming year."
The AGM will be hosted at the Western Star Hotel, with tickets open for both members and the general public.
"I'm just looking forward to seeing some of our members come out. If you're not a member and you're just curious more about the Chamber," said Scarlett. "It's a great opportunity to come out, learn something, and hopefully, we'll get you in as a member for the upcoming year."
