Wild Rose School Division has announced that Jodie Mattia will become the new Superintendent of Schools effective August 1, 2025.

Having been an educator for over 30 years, Jodie brings a breadth of experience from her many leadership roles including Director of Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being & Sense of Belonging, Director of Learning Services and District Principal at Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools.

“Our Board is very pleased to select Jodie from an exceptional field of candidates they interviewed for the new Superintendent,” says Board Chair, Daryl Scott.  “Her dedication to innovation, collaboration and student and staff well-being aligns well with Wild Rose School Division’s priorities.”

Jodie’s many accomplishments include being a PhD candidate in Educational Policy & Leadership at the University of Alberta, as well as leading initiatives in mental health, crisis response, inclusive programming and Indigenous education.

“I am looking forward to building strong relationships with staff, families and the community while continuing to champion excellence in public education,” Jodie says.  “I am excited to bring my collaborative, strength-based and relationally focused system leadership skills to WRSD.”
