Senior Curling Districts were held in Outlook back on February 7 and 8, ahead of regional play this weekend with girls and mixed teams playing in Davidson, and the boys and doubles teams playing in Outlook. The top two finishing teams in each category moved on to regionals.
In Outlook at the beginning of February for senior girls' action, Dinsmore curlers Lead Harlie McNeely, Third Darling McNeely, Skip Alexis Elstad, Second Dezarae Jordan, Alternate Francheska Villamor and coaches Shaunna Annala and Erin Green took gold and the right to advance.
Second place went to the Outlook rink led by Skip Kylee Klop, Third Delilah Drury, Second Lily Farden, and Lead Natalie Huebner, and coaches Brent Larwood and Joel Davey.
The senior boys curling gold medalists were Outlook's Davin Ivan as lead, Second Brandt Ivan, Third Aiden Kratchmer, and Skip Alex Calvin, led by coach Kirk Pederson.
The silver went to Dinsmore's rink, featuring Casey Somerville, Skip Jesse Reiber, Third Brayden Marchuk, Second Hunter Lawes, Alternate Hayden Pajunen, and coaches Erin Green and Shaunna Annala.
Senior mixed curling representatives will be Beechy's Ryder Ringrose as third, Second Kyla Moebis, Lead Ashton Erickson, and Skip Julia Wiens along with coaches Shelby Ayers and Kerry Ringrose.
Second place finishers from LCBI were skip Caleb Turton, Third Alex Little John, Second Troy Peterman, lead Bekah Boot, along with alternate Macy Martinuik and coach Justin Turton.
Finally, the representatives for senior doubles are from Outlook, Zayne Sparks and Isaac Lammers, coached by coach Kirk Pederson.
Teams from the southwest, south central and central Valley Districts will be in attendance for the 2-day events, the draws available here. Gate fees are $7 for adults and $5 for students grades 7-12, kids seven and under getting in for free.
