On Thursday, (Feb. 27), at approximately 3:05 a.m., the Innisfail RCMP stopped a red Ford F150 on Highway 2A.
During the traffic stop, officers arrested the driver and passenger under the Excise Act for possession of unstamped cigarettes.
The passenger was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants.
During a search of the driver, RCMP located a taser.
A vehicle search also yielded:
- Cocaine including cocaine individually packaged for sale;
- Fentanyl;
- Oxycodone pills;
- Small amount of Canadian currency;
- Other items related to the sale of cocaine;
- Illegal unstamped tobacco.
Michael Stephanson, a 40 years-old male resident of Red Deer County, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of Fentanyl;
- Possession of Oxycodone;
- Possession of a prohibited weapon;
- Failure to comply with release conditions;
- Possession of unstamped tobacco contrary to the excise act.
Skylyn Robicheau, 27-years-old female resident of Sylvan Lake, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of Fentanyl;
- Possession of Oxycodone;
- Possession of unstamped tobacco contrary to the excise act.
Stephanson and Robicheau were both taken before a Justice of the Peace and were released with conditions.
They are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on March 27.
