RCMP are continuing their investigation into a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 22 that occurred over the weekend.

On Sunday, at 5:30 p.m., Didsbury and Sundre RCMP responded to the collision near Township Road 312, in Mountain View County. 

Upon arriving on scene, a Dodge Journey and Ford F150 were located in the north bound lane and the Dodge was fully engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Dodge was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the F150 was taken via STARS to a Calgary hospital in critical condition.

The RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation continues.
