Three individuals have been charged with several offences following arrests made near Halkirk.
On March 7, Coronation RCMP were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near an active ATCO site on Township Road 400, north of Halkirk. The complainant indicated that there appeared to be leaking fluids coming from underneath the vehicle.
RCMP attended and located three males inside the vehicle, as well as many items in the box of the truck, later determined to be stolen property.
All three males were arrested at the scene, and a search incidental to arrest led to the following:
- Approximately 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Break-in instruments
- Stolen fuel (from Town of Halkirk office)
- Items stolen from ATCO site
As a result of the investigation, Cory Davies, 48, a resident of Olds, David Pierce, 50, a resident of Olds, and Daniel Gravestock, 45, a resident of Calgary, have jointly been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a controlled substance (meth)
- Break and enter
- Mischief under $5000 (x2)
- Theft under $5000
- Possession of stolen property under $5000 (x3)
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Possess break and enter tools
In addition, Davies has been charged with breach of probation.
Pierce and Gravestock have been charged with two counts of breaching their release orders.
After Judicial Interim Release Hearings, Gravestock and Pierce have been remanded into custody and will be appearing in court on March 10 and 11, 2025, at Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
Davies was released with conditions to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Coronation on March 14, 2025.
