Former Cochrane Fire Inspector’s court date rescheduled

The first court appearance of former Cochrane Fire Inspector Jeff Avery has been rescheduled for Apr. 8.

Avery has been charged with fraud over $5,000 in relation to funds missing from the local firefighters charitable foundation.

He was dismissed from the Cochrane Fire Service in August 2023 after 22 years of service.

The 57-year-old was charged last month after a lengthy investigation by Cochrane RCMP.
